Sydnie spent two decades moving through some of the most complex risk environments in global finance and cybersecurity. She started in investment banking, built her career inside tier 1 institutions across London and international markets, then pivoted into cybersecurity governance at the exact moment regulators began treating cyber risk as a board-level, investor-facing obligation rather than an IT problem. That wasn't luck. It was pattern recognition — the same skill she now teaches.

When the SEC began reshaping how public companies disclose cybersecurity risk, Sydnie was already positioned. Years at the intersection of operational risk, capital markets, and governance frameworks had given her a lens most cybersecurity professionals don't have: she reads risk not as a technical finding, but as a disclosure, a valuation, and a transaction outcome.

The most instructive pivot came in 2024. Sydnie left a senior role, to relocate to Wyoming, and spent over a year conducting independent research across gold, silver, uranium, and critical minerals equities — studying junior and mid-cap resource companies, SEC disclosure patterns, and the capital markets infrastructure surrounding mining and defense-adjacent industries. She read the macro signal early. She moved before the crowd. That research became the foundation of Sturnella HQ, her cybersecurity advisory practice for small-cap public companies and pre-IPO organizations navigating high-consequence transactions.

Myrtus is what she built from everything she learned doing it.
